About Me

I look forward to meeting you, first here is a little about me.

I believe that all small businesses & non-profits should benefit from great marketing, design and an online presence.

The beginning

This journey really started out with me doing a favour here or there for people and organizations. From there my design career has blossomed into something where I can offer something useful to companies and/or organizations that could benefit from what I know how to do.

Trinda Jocelyn Design came to be in 2016, although I had been freelancing(doing favours) on the side since 2009 under the name Digissential Design. Which, in hindsight, was a bad idea. No one could pronounce it, spell it or remember it. Yikes!

In 2018, I launched out in the world as a full-time freelance professional. It was terrifying and exciting, but the best decision I ever made - I really love what I do. And what I love even more is the positive impact I can bring an organizations brand.

My vision

I want to fill a design gap; that middle space where small businesses and non-profits exist. Trinda Jocelyn Design is here for those people who are looking for great design in their marketing and online presence but feel like that option is  out of their reach.

Trinda Jocelyn

Hey there, I'm Trinda, a freelance graphic and web designer located in Estevan, Saskatchewan.

Creating has been a life long journey filled with all sorts of mediums. I entered into the world of design for over a decade ago and I love what I do.

When I first got into design I struggled with what my role was in the "sales process". I didn't like that I was making ads just to get people to buy stuff. There had to be something more.

And of course, there was. Freelancing was my side-gig for a long time before deciding to quit my full-time job. However, that side-gig provided me with a real sense of satisfaction. Having the opportunity to work with people and see first hand the difference my skills can make.

My realization that my role as a designer is not just about "making stuff" and getting people to buy, but that it's about finding interesting and creative ways to bridge people together through the power of visual communication.

BUT, WHAT ABOUT ME PERSONALLY?

About me... I  am married to Adam Jocelyn and we have three kids we super proud of – Zack, Jaiden and Gabby. I have two cats and a dog that I love to pieces, even though they leave hair all over my house.

You can think of me as a glass half-full kind of girl and I try not to take myself too seriously. I love a good laugh!

I am also a 3rd Degree Black Belt in GTF Taekwon-Do and I instruct with the Estevan TKD club. I love technology and watercolor and gardening. Yay for summer!

My Values

Still trying to figure me out?  Here are some of the things I think are important in life and in business.

Mutual Respect

Mutual respect is a two-way street. I hold great respect for all the businesses I work with and what they do in their day-to-day operation. Count on me to keep it professional. I promise not to say what you want to hear - I want you to know I have your best interest at heart!

Trust me to be the designer and I will trust that you know your business. Together we are going to make something your customers will benefit from.

Team Player

You can consider me part of the team and expect me to conform to your team and not the other way around.

Of course, I do have processes, but if you have particular tools in place that you prefer to use, I am game. I want to leave the place as good or better as when I found it. I don't always have all the ideas and am open to hearing you and/or your teams thoughts.

Confidence

I want you to feel confident that I have your best interest in mind.  I also want you to know that I will deliver my best effort on every project.

Is your project still in the quiet stages? Rest assured that your secret is safe with me. Your story is yours to tell, not mine. I simply get to help you share it.

I will only share my work for you after you share first - it's your thunder!

Clear expectations

I am fairly organized and like to know what needs to be done. I prefer to avoid fumbling around and winging it. Planning leads to a successful project Every. Single. Time.

That is why I follow a process. You know what to expect from me and I know what to expect from you. Simple.

Balanced Life

Life can get crazy around here. My husband and I have three human teens and three fur babies.

I believe in being present at work when I am there and with my family when I am there.  So, I work from 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. This gives me time to get all my work done, and be fully present in life.

Kindness

Treating people well and trying to see from another's perspective is important to me. I like to listen to understand in order to find solutions to meet the needs and goals in your business or organisation.

And like all people, I like to be treated kindly. Of course that won't be a problem. 😉
